Heather Walton
Licensed Lay Worship Leader
Heather is a people person, and as a lay leader in local city, and country churches, she strives to see the unique facet of God’s love and grace in each one she meets. She finds it a delight, and challenge to serve such a diverse bunch of folks.
Heather is a writer, and musician, and her mission is to use these God given talents to uplift, encourage, and share God’s love in as many ways she can. There is often no “off button” when Heather starts gabbing about all the wonders this world holds for us when we gather together as a community of Kindness, walking in the footsteps of Jesus. Just for the joy of it!

Rev. Dr. Tracy Crick-Butler
Ordained Minister
Tracy was born and raised in London Ontario, graduated from King’s College with a Bachelor of Social Work and was a candidate for ministry through Wesley-Knox United Church. She received her Master of Divinity and her Master in Pastoral Studies at Emmanuel College and was ordained in 1996.
Serving churches in Huron-Perth, Middlesex, London and Oxford, she loves to preach, to wrestle with scripture and to find ways to see God in our everyday experiences. While serving her congregations, she attended school and graduated with her Doctorate in Biblical Preaching in 2020 and then decided to take her commitment to pastoral care in a new direction and went on to pursue her Master of Social Work, graduating in 2023. She currently has a private counselling practice and is excited when she gets the opportunity to preach.
James O’Deary
I am from the Six Nations Reserve close to Brantford, Ontario, my tribe is Cayuga, and I am personally mixed heritage as my mother was Scottish and Irish descent.
My great grandfather helped me to see that my path was always to walk the middle road and being considered Two-Eyed Seeing. Being mixed heritage and a transgender, I definitely see things very different then many, it gives me a greater understanding.
My roots are Indigenous which I continue to learn about and yet I have found great comfort in the United Church as they have a respect for my heritage. They also embrace the 2S LGBTQIA++ and allow us a safe space.
I have started a new journey with my wife of 38 years and that is to become a Licensed Lay Worship Leader. I have felt the calling for many years but tried to quench as I felt so unworthy, considering my lifestyle has been condemned for many years by the Church. Now with new understanding I look forward to my journey in helping others as well as helping myself. I thank you for welcoming my wife Deitana and I into your Church.
William & Karen Butt
Karen and Bill Butt have worked in a total of 15 countries. They were overseas personnel for the United Church of Canada from 1998 to 2011, first in Angola, and then with the Christian Council of Mozambique. Karen worked in a girls’ education program which encourages girls to stay in school, and develop their confidence in their ability to learn and to make positive life decisions for themselves, including in matters related to HIV/AIDS. The program operates still in 7 urban and rural communities.
Bill was communications consultant to the Christian Council of Mozambique, working on community journalism, website design and maintenance, and a video and music production studio creating programming by, for and about young people exploring issues which affect their lives including HIV/AIDS, poverty, crime, and domestic violence. Much of his time also was devoted to flood and drought relief, climate change, and rural development.
Recently they returned from an ecumenical pilgrimage to Palestine.
They are based in London where they are members of Calvary United Church, and also attend Kettle and Stony Point United Church in the Indigenous community at Kettle Point.

“Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live, a place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive. Built of hopes and dreams and visions, rock of faith and vault of grace; here the love of Christ shall end divisions; All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place..“
